The color palette is soft- making for those Instagram worthy photos. Using vintage planes as the focal point of the event gives so many decor options and the aviation theme provides the opportunity to add so many small details.
Detail ideas
Solid colored backdrops to match the soft tones of the decor- less is more if you want that elevated look. For this design, we went with a simple wood lettered “one” sign on our backdrop to add some detail without going too over the top. You don’t need over the top decor to make an impact! For the cake, you can add some airplane toppers or even purchase edible airplane cupcake toppers from Amazon. As for the signage at the stations- we had so much fun creating those to match the theme!
Keeping the theme
Letters to the little pilot
To add a touch of sentiment, setup a time capsule station where guests can write memories, advice, and well wishes to your little one for them to receive on their 18th birthday. You could even set this up at every birthday party over the years to add more memories to.
Boarding pass signatures
When guests arrived, they signed their name on a photo frame mat. This mat can be used to frame a photo- either from their 1st birthday photo shoot, a family photo, or even their cake smash photo from the day!
